Wondering what actually happens when you hire a social media manager?

You’re not alone. Before I invest in anything, especially when it comes to my business, I ALWAYS want to know:

“What really happens once I sign the contract? What’s going on behind the curtain?”

I want the good, the bad, and the awkward Slack gifs. No exceptions. 🫡

So if you’re eyeing social media support and wondering what it really looks like, this post is for you. I’m walking you through exactly what happens from the moment we hop on a discovery call to your first 30 days of having me as your social media manager.

First, we hop on an initial call to see how social media can save you time + expand your reach.

This isn’t just a sales call. In fact, I actually don’t even use the words “sales call” or “discovery call” because it really doesn’t explain how beneficial this call is for business owners.

Instead, I refer to these initial chats as “Social Media Management Clarity Calls” because they’re designed to look at where you’re stuck, how outsourcing can save you time, and help you feel confident in your next step.

Here’s what we talk about:

  • What’s working and what isn’t in your current social media strategy
  • What’s draining your energy or momentum
  • What you really want your social media to do in the next 6 months
  • How hands-off you want to be
  • Where you’re currently losing time, visibility, or leads

And if it feels like a fit, you can lock in your spot with a deposit.

This is where the magic starts, and where you start to breathe easier.

The first two weeks are all about onboarding and strategy. You’ll get:

  • A detailed checklist of what I need from you (photos, B-roll, brand files, passwords, etc.)
  • Private Slack access to me so we can communicate back-and-forth. Slack is quite literally one of my favorite platforms ever. It lets us send messages, pictures, files, and even voice notes to each other (check out the picture below to see what Slack looks like)
Screenshot of a Slack channel with messages from Madelyn Victoria and a client whose name is blurred out. The conversation is about updating and revising a caption.

Behind the scenes, I’m also doing a deep audit of your existing marketing. Like…

  • Reviewing your past content
  • Auditing your profiles
  • Analyzing your messaging, offers, visuals, and brand voice
  • Mapping where you’re gaining or losing traction

Nerd mode activated. 🤓

This is where the fun begins. With your goals and audience in mind, I create a customized social media strategy, and then start building everything out.

What you’ll get:

  • A clear, strategic social media content calendar
  • Branded social media graphics
  • Reels and short-form video ideas for you to film (that I’ll edit later!)
  • Captions that sound like you, not like they were copied and pasted from ChatGPT (gag 🤢)

Everything is then delivered in ClickUp for you to review. You can approve or request edits with one click (see the picture below for a sneak peek of how this works. It’s SO easy + organized!)

Screenshot of a ClickUp dashboard. It's broken down into 3 weeks and then broken down even more into 4 posts a week. There are custom statuses by it for revision, scheduling, and sharing.

I just had a client tell me yesterday, “This all would’ve taken me 20+ hours. Thank you!”

And she’s not wrong. This is a full-time job.

But it doesn’t have to be your job. That’s what I’m here for!

By the one-month mark, we’re in a groove. Content is planned, scheduled, and aligned with your goals. You’re no longer scrambling to post something last minute or feeling that stress of “I haven’t shown up in days.”

Here’s what changes:

  • Your social media presence looks professional
  • Your content speaks directly to your ideal client
  • You’re no longer stuck staring at a blank screen trying to come up with a caption
  • You have dang good reels + graphics you’re proud of
  • Your audience understands what you do and why it matters
  • Your brand finally feels cohesive and consistent

You’re not spending hours each week trying to figure out what to post. You’re actually focused on running your business.

And that is the whole point.

My clients don’t hire me because they can’t write a caption. They hire me because they can’t afford to lose time, momentum, or sanity trying to do it all.

They hire me because:

  • They want to stay visible without being online 24/7
  • They need strategy and execution
  • They’re ready to grow without burning out

Your social media shouldn’t be the reason you’re overwhelmed.

It should be the one of the reasons your business is growing (like in the screenshot below from one of my clients. She’s grown +82.3% and we’re just getting started.)

Screenshot of analytics from Instagram. It shows 72% from non-followers.

If you want…

  • More clients coming in through content that actually converts
  • More hours back in your week
  • A social media strategy that works without you doing all the work…

…then this is the support you’re looking for.

so hot right now

Not sure if you're ready for full management? Start with the free audit.

I'll personally review your Instagram profile and send back a keyword-optimized bio, three content ideas you can post this week, and hook ideas for your next IG reel.

(It takes less than 3 minutes to sign up!)

You didn't build a six-figure business to spend your nights editing Instagram reels.

You had every intention of getting content done this week.

But then a client needed something, then the proposal, then school pickup ran long, and suddenly it's Thursday, and you've posted twice, one of them was a quote graphic. Aaand you're already behind on next week.

The Sunday batch session you promised yourself didn't happen (again). Meanwhile your website still says what you wrote two years ago, your email list hasn't heard from you in weeks, and your Instagram doesn't reflect the business you're actually running anymore.

You don't have a motivation problem, but a capacity problem. There are only so many hours in a day! And at some point, every growing business needs to solve that differently.

Stop me if you've heard this before.
