Overview / Here’s What You’ll Learn in this post:
Let me start off by addressing the elephant in the room. You may be thinking: “Can’t someone on our team just do our marketing?”
I hear that phrase a lot, especially from business owners who’ve already told me they don’t have the time to plan content, write weekly emails, or stay on top of launch prep. 😅
And please understand: that is not a criticism or judgement of internal teams. It’s just the reality of how much marketing actually requires. Because marketing looks simple… until you’re the one responsible for the strategy, content creation, and actual results.
So let’s talk honestly about the five most common objections I hear when it comes to hiring a marketing strategist (also called a Fractional CMO), especially for service-based businesses.

📱 1. “How do I know it’ll actually work?”
This is the most common (and certainly a valid) concern I hear.
And the truth is that there’s no ethical guarantee that marketing will instantly turn into sales. Anyone who promises you overnight success is not being honest.
But here’s what is guaranteed:
- Consistent visibility across platforms
- Strategic, intentional content (not last-minute posts or launch emails with no direction)
- Clear messaging aligned with your brand and goals
- Content tailored to your offers, audience, and sales
- A launch plan with pre-written emails, social media posts, and nurture sequences
- A trustworthy, professional online presence
And that matters because clarity + exposure + consistency is how sales actually happen over time.
Here’s an email from a client I got a couple weeks ago about their social media:

💬 2. “I’m worried it won’t sound like me.”
This is totally fair, and really common.
I’ve seen plenty of marketers and CMOs use plug-and-play content across totally different industries (gag 🤢). That’s not what I do.
I take the time to:
- Learn how you talk
- Understand your audience and offers
- Reflect your tone and brand personality
- Write content (emails, captions, marketing funnels, and launch copy) that sounds human, not AI-generated
Whether it’s a reel, a newsletter, or a sales sequence, your business deserves more than recycled templates or content that’s copied and pasted from ChatGPT.
🚫 3. “I don’t want to lose control of my marketing.”
Hiring a marketing strategist doesn’t mean disappearing! It means delegating the hard stuff while staying in the loop.
You’re still the expert on your business. I’m the expert in how to market it.
Here’s how we collaborate:
- We review strategy and talk about goals together each month before content is even created
- You get a ClickUp dashboard to see content (emails, social media posts, etc) as soon as I create it, and you get the opportunity to ask for revisions
- You approve everything before it goes live
You’re handing off the marketing strategy + execution, not giving up your business’ voice, vision, or values.

🤔 4. “I could probably do this myself.”
Yeah, you probably could.
But the question is: Should you?
Most of my clients can create emails or write captions. They just don’t have the time, energy, or mental bandwidth to do that and run a business.
This isn’t about capability. It’s about capacity.
When you outsource marketing, you’re buying back:
- 10-20 hours a week
- Content that nurtures leads and drives conversations
- Consistency across email, social, and offer launches
- The mental energy spent second-guessing what to post
- A system that’s proactive, not reactive
You’re the CEO, who’s in charge of calling the shots and growing your business. Not the person who can’t keep up with endless content production (…like this):

📈 5. “What’s the actual ROI?”
Let’s break it down.
Hiring a CMO and marketing strategist gives you:
- Consistent visibility (without being online 24/7)
- Strategic sales emails that actually convert
- A marketing system that keeps working while you do the work only you can do as a CEO
- Content that reflects your value
- More aligned leads coming in from social and email
✨ What I Actually Do for You
If you’re thinking about outsourcing your business’ marketing, here’s what I handle:
- Strategy: Monthly calls to align content with your business goals
- Social Media: Reels, carousels, posts, and captions created and posted for you
- Email Marketing: Weekly emails that are written to connect with your specific audience
- Quarterly Launches: A quarterly email sales sequence to promote a specific offer or launch
- Content Repurposing: Turn blogs or long-form content into bite-sized pieces of content for consist messaging
So you get to:
- Focus on clients and creation
- Stay consistent without burnout
- Stop guessing what to post, send, or write next
- Enjoy a business that grows without taking over your life
